Qomi Awami Tehreek (QAT) Chairman Ayaz Latif Palijo has strongly condemned the corporate farming initiative, calling it an unacceptable plan aimed at robbing Sindh of its land, sovereignty, and rights. In a press statement, Palijo warned that under the guise of corporate farming, "a new state" is being established in every district by displacing local landowners and sidelining them from decision-making.
He demanded that the Sindh government immediately issue a formal notification rejecting the corporate farming project, which he said is designed to serve external interests rather than local communities.
Palijo accused the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) of selling off Sindh's resources for the sake of political power, claiming, "PPP has handed over millions of acres and Sindh's wealth just to stay in office, hence its repeated imposition on the people."
Highlighting the province's dire condition, he said, "Sindh is plagued by unemployment, hunger, ignorance, and lawlessness, with no jobs and a corrupt government at the helm." He noted that despite being the largest contributor to the national revenue, Sindh remains deprived of basic rights.
"Sindh produces oil, gas, and coal, yet the federal government controls these resources. Even the regions where gas is extracted are denied its supply," he added. He also pointed out that Sindh suffers from the worst electricity load-shedding and gas shortages in the country, alongside record inflation and corruption.
Palijo also raised the long-standing issue of water rights, stating that Punjab has been "looting Sindh's water for the past 150 years." He demanded an accounting of all plundered resources including water, oil, gas, coal and justice for Sindh's people.
He concluded by saying that the people of Sindh have had enough of anti-people systems and will resist all efforts that undermine their rights, land, and future.
