In response to the viral clip, Anderson’s spokesperson told People that the interview “was clearly intended as comedy.” The statement emphasized Anderson’s respect for Lohan and expressed regret if the humor was in poor taste. The spokesperson added, “Any implication to the contrary is both inaccurate and potentially defamatory.”
The interview lasted about six and a half minutes, during which Anderson also discussed Lohan’s then-upcoming projects, including Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and Mean Girls.
Anderson, now 54, has faced other legal allegations in the past, including accusations of sexual assault which were later dropped or not pursued by authorities. He has consistently denied these claims.
The resurfacing of this interview has reignited conversations about appropriate boundaries in celebrity interviews, especially concerning minors.
