
The Department of Fine Arts at Rawalpindi Women University (RWU), in collaboration with the Rawalpindi Arts Council, organised a vibrant exhibition showcasing the annual thesis projects of its graduating students.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Dr Anila Kamal, while Arts Council Director, Muhammad Shakoor, also graced the occasion as guest of honour. This year, 36 students presented a diverse collection of artworks, including 10 miniature paintings and 26 other creative pieces developed under the supervision of faculty members.
The exhibition attracted a large number of students, faculty members and culture enthusiasts. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Anila Kamal said, "Fine arts represent a society's cultural identity and intellectual development. Art plays a significant role in promoting social harmony and positive thinking." She further added, "I am proud that our university is consistently enhancing the quality of its annual exhibition, and I commend our students for bringing fresh perspectives through their creative expressions every year." She also appreciated the continued support of the Arts Council, stating, "This collaboration provides our students with an invaluable opportunity to stay connected with the professional world and showcase their talents on a wider platform."
Muhammad Shakoor expressed his gratitude, saying, "We are honoured that Rawalpindi Women University chose the Arts Council as its partner for this exhibition." He further remarked, "The Arts Council remains committed to supporting young and emerging artists by providing them platforms to exhibit their work. I congratulate all the students on their achievements and look forward to more collaborative events in the future."
Fine Arts Department Chairperson Dr Roohul Amin said that the students' work not only displayed their creative abilities but also reflected thoughtful engagement with social themes.
He termed art as one of the finest forms of human expression. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates among the participating students. Attendees praised the exhibition, calling it a remarkable showcase of creativity, dedication and artistic vision.
