Wendy Williams made a rare public appearance in New York City to celebrate her 61st birthday on July 20, 2025.
The former talk show host—who has been under a court-appointed guardianship since 2022—stepped out for dinner at Peter Luger Steakhouse alongside her niece Alex Finnie and Alex’s partner, Eric Houston.
Wearing a bold green and white minidress with a red handbag, Gucci belt, and her signature “W” necklace, Wendy smiled brightly, signaling confidence amid her ongoing legal and health challenges.

Just days earlier, Williams was spotted dining at Delmonico’s with former show producer Suzanne Bass. In a video shared by TMZ, she revealed her birthday wish: to be “out of guardianship.” This public statement aligns with her ongoing pushback against previous diagnoses, which include primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia—conditions her care team disclosed in 2023.

Despite those reports, Williams has publicly challenged the narrative. In a March phone interview with Good Day New York, she said she passed mental competency tests “with flying colors.” Later, during a call to The View, she emphasized that an independent evaluation confirmed she was not incapacitated.
Williams, who stepped away from her show in 2021 due to health concerns, appears determined to regain her autonomy. As fans continue to rally around her, she remains vocal about reclaiming control of her life and legacy.
