Anne Hathaway has officially returned to her iconic role as Andy Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada 2, as revealed in a first-look photo shared on social media by the Oscar-winning actor and 20th Century Studios.

The upcoming sequel to the 2006 hit comedy-drama is currently in production, with Hathaway set to reunite with original cast members Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci. Director David Frankel and screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna are also returning to helm the long-anticipated follow-up.

In the photo, Hathaway captioned the image “Andy Sachs 2025,” giving fans a glimpse of her character nearly two decades after the events of the original film. In the first movie, Hathaway’s character was an aspiring journalist who took a job as the assistant to fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly, portrayed by Streep. By the end of the film, Andy left her position at Runway magazine to pursue a journalism career at a major New York newspaper.

Plot details for the sequel remain under wraps. However, as reported by Variety, the story is expected to follow Miranda Priestly as she contends with the challenges of a changing media landscape and the decline of traditional magazine publishing. Blunt’s character, once her assistant, is now a powerful executive at a luxury fashion conglomerate—setting the stage for a dramatic clash.

New additions to the cast include Kenneth Branagh, who is set to play Miranda’s husband, along with Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, and Pauline Chalamet in unspecified roles. Broadway talents Helen J. Shen and Conrad Ricamora, as well as comedian Caleb Hearon, will also appear. Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman are confirmed to reprise their roles from the original film.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on May 1, 2026, via 20th Century Studios and Disney.
