CDA to process land transfer abroad

Following the passing of a former ambassador of a Gulf country who once served in Pakistan, his family will cover all expenses — including travel, accommodation, and meals — for a three-member delegation from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) being sent abroad to transfer ownership of his agro-farm plot in Chak Shahzad.

According to sources, the ambassador had purchased the Chak Shahzad plot over three decades ago during his diplomatic posting in Islamabad. Upon completion of his assignment, he returned to his home country, where he later passed away.

After his death, the Gulf nation formally requested the Government of Pakistan to facilitate the transfer of the property to the nominee named by the late ambassador's family. Acting on the instructions of the Ministry of Interior, Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa approved the dispatch of a three-member team to the Pakistani embassy in that Gulf country. The team will carry out the formal transfer of ownership in favour of the nominated heir.

A CDA official clarified that the deceased ambassador's family will fully bear all costs related to the CDA delegation's visit abroad. Not a single rupee of public funds will be spent for this purpose, he maintained.
