Official held for bribery

FIA Faisalabad Zone has arrested FESCO official Muhammad Waqas on suspicion of being involved in of corruption and bribery.

The accused, during his posting at the FESCO office in Civil Lines, had illegally provided electricity to a private housing society located on Sargodha Road, Faisalabad.

When the FIA and FESCO's technical team reached the spot and inspected, 35 single-phase meters and dozens of street lights were being operated illegally through electricity theft.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused had taken millions of rupees in bribes to carry out this illegal activity, sources said.
