Two young boys were killed after a speeding water tanker crushed their motorcycle near Agha Khan signal on Defence Korangi Road on Sunday, officials said.
The boys, aged 12 and 15 and brothers by relation, died on the spot. Their bodies were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

Police arrived shortly after, taking one man into custody for setting the tanker ablaze. The fire brigade was called to extinguish the blaze, but the front portion of the tanker was completely destroyed.
Defence police station’s SHO, Bilal Ahmed, identified the victims as 12‑year‑old Tauseef Shah and his 15‑year‑old brother, Ayan Shah, both residents of Korangi Ghari. The boys’ father, who owns a meat shop in A‑Market along Korangi Road, told police that his sons had left home to visit Sea View.
The SHO noted that the speed of the tanker and the boys’ possible inattention contributed to the collision. CCTV footage is being retrieved to reconstruct the events. Efforts to locate the fleeing driver are ongoing, and contact has been made with the tanker’s owner, Muhammad Ali.
One suspect was arrested for setting the tanker on fire, and further legal action is underway. The damaged tanker was removed by a crane truck to clear Korangi Road and restore traffic flow.
