Rob Kardashian has shared the personal reason he chooses to stay out of the spotlight, explaining that his absence from reality TV and public appearances is rooted in his struggle with self-image and comfort.

The 38-year-old Kardashian, who shares his eight-year-old daughter Dream with ex-fiancée Blac Chyna, made a rare public statement on his sister Khloé Kardashian’s podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land. During the episode, the siblings discussed persistent rumors about their relationship and living situation.

Rob, who was once a regular on Keeping Up With the Kardashians and briefly starred in Rob & Chyna, clarified that there's no rift between him and his family. Instead, he said his decision to remain off-camera is entirely personal.

“There’s definitely nothing wrong between any of us,” Rob told Khloé. “It just had everything to do with myself. I don’t want to be filming and putting myself in a position where I’m not comfortable.”

Rob admitted he hasn’t felt comfortable in his own skin for several years, and appearing on camera while feeling that way didn’t make sense to him. “Why would I want to go be on camera and just be vulnerable and let people in when that’s not what I want to do?” he added.

Although he confirmed he might consider filming in the future under the right circumstances, Rob emphasized that he prioritizes his own peace and happiness over public exposure. “Filming and doing all that, it’s not for everybody,” he said. “I choose my own happiness and peace.”

Despite his absence from The Kardashians, Rob remains close to his family and is especially tight with Khloé, who frequently spends time with his daughter Dream.
