The Summer I Turned Pretty is back, but if you were hoping to binge it all in one weekend, think again. Prime Video is going old-school with season 3, rolling out the final 11 episodes week by week, starting July 16.
Yes, the first two episodes dropped together, but fans will now have to wait every Wednesday for new installments until the series finale on September 17. The drawn-out release has already divided viewers, many of whom were expecting the usual binge-worthy drop.
The schedule is as follows:
- July 16: Episodes 1 & 2
- July 23: Episode 3
- July 30: Episode 4
- August 6: Episode 5
- August 13: Episode 6
- August 20: Episode 7
- August 27: Episode 8
- September 3: Episode 9
- September 10: Episode 10
- September 17: Episode 11 (finale)
Season 3 picks up with Belly fresh out of her junior year of college and newly engaged to Jeremiah—until Conrad reappears to make her question everything. The stakes are higher, the emotions rawer, and the format intentionally slower.
Jenny Han, author of the books and executive producer, explained why: “We needed more canvas for the story. There’s a lot of ground to cover, and this way the characters really get their moment.”
But fans aren't all on board. Many have taken to social media expressing their frustration with the weekly drip, calling it ‘torture’ and ‘a cruel summer.’
Still, others argue the slow burn is fitting for the show’s romantic tension. And with just one season left to settle the long-standing love triangle, maybe the wait is worth it.
