RAWALPINDI:

Unknown thieves stole six batteries from a flood warning post installed on Nullah Leh at Pirwadhai, disconnecting the system from the main flood control room.

The disconnection triggered an immediate response from the flood monitoring staff, who discovered broken locks and missing equipment at the post. According to official sources, the batteries were part of the flood warning system since 2006.

Upon inspection, Flood Control Room In-charge Rizwan Ahmed filed a case of burglary at Ganjmandi police station, reporting the theft of six batteries by unidentified individuals from one of the 10 warning posts under his supervision.
