‘American Idol’ music supervisor Robin Kaye and husband found dead in double homicide
Robin Kaye, a longtime music supervisor for American Idol, was tragically found dead alongside her husband, Thomas Deluca, in their Encino, Los Angeles home in what authorities are investigating as a double homicide.
The LAPD discovered the couple’s bodies on Monday during a welfare check after family members had not heard from them in four days. Officers observed blood at the front entrance and broke a window to gain access. Inside, they found both Kaye and Deluca with fatal gunshot wounds to the head, located in separate rooms. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Law enforcement sources confirm that the case is being investigated as a double homicide. Surveillance footage is currently under review, and no suspects have been taken into custody. Authorities noted there were no signs of forced entry or burglary, suggesting the crime may have been targeted rather than random.
Interestingly, police had previously responded to the same residence just days earlier. On Thursday, neighbors reported seeing a possible intruder attempting to scale the property’s fence while armed. Officers arrived at the scene but found no evidence of forced entry at that time.
Robin Kaye was a respected figure in the entertainment industry, credited with supervising music on American Idol for at least 15 seasons. She also worked on popular shows like Lip Sync Battle and received multiple Guild of Music Supervisors Awards for her work.
The home where the couple lived was previously owned by the late rapper Juice WRLD, adding a layer of celebrity history to the tragic location.
The LAPD is urging anyone with information to come forward as the investigation into the deaths of Robin Kaye and Thomas Deluca continues.
