Landslide damages homes in Murree
Heavy monsoon rains triggered a landslide in the Lower Masoot area near Murree, causing a large boulder to crash into residential houses.
One house was completely destroyed, and two others suffered partial damage. Miraculously, no casualties were reported.
The incident occurred late at night in the village of Lohar Masoot Banat, part of Union Council Daryagali, where a massive rock rolled down a hill and struck three homes. The house of Parvez Abbasi was completely demolished, while properties belonging to Kashif and Chan Zeb Abbasi sustained damage to walls and windows. Residents fear further rockfalls may occur, posing a serious threat to the community.
Due to alleged negligence by the Highway Department, blocked drains and water channels have turned streets into streams, causing inconvenience for locals and tourists alike.
