Judicial stamp supply resumes

Despite heavy foot traffic at the property registration branch for the past 15 days

RAWALPINDI:

With the start of the new fiscal year, the supply and sale of previously short-supplied judicial stamps have resumed across Rawalpindi Division.

However, the property registration system remains paralysed due to the absence of official notification regarding new tax rates and increased deputy commissioner (DC) property valuation rates.

Despite heavy foot traffic at the property registration branch for the past 15 days, no new registrations have been processed.

The government website for submitting online fee challans has also been non-functional for two weeks, bringing property transactions, power of attorney transfers, and related legal processes to a standstill.

The shortage of judicial stamps ended abruptly on July 1, as the provincial budget did not raise their prices.
