Derek Dixon, an actor from Tyler Perry’s The Oval, has spoken publicly for the first time since filing a $260 million sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit against Perry in June 2025.
In an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Dixon detailed a series of alleged incidents that occurred between 2020 and 2021.
He claims Perry made multiple unwanted advances, including one at Perry’s Georgia home, where he alleges Perry pulled down his underwear and groped him.
In another incident, Dixon says Perry entered his bedroom and rubbed his thigh before leaving.
Dixon also alleges that after he rejected these advances, professional opportunities were rescinded specifically citing a canceled pilot and a recurring role.
He said he feared the consequences of speaking out earlier but now feels responsible to do so, stating, “Everyone deserves to go to work without their boss trying to have sex with them.”
He also revealed that efforts to address the matter privately were unsuccessful and that public legal action was a last resort to prompt systemic change.
Tyler Perry has not commented publicly. However, his attorney has denied all allegations, calling the claims “completely fabricated” and stating they are confident the case will be dismissed.
