Coco Jones and Donovan Mitchell have officially announced their engagement after two years of dating.
The Grammy-winning R&B singer and Cleveland Cavaliers star shared the news on Instagram on Friday, July 11, with reps confirming the milestone to PEOPLE.
“After an amazing season and a sold-out tour, Donovan Mitchell and Coco Jones took a moment to recharge on vacation, which turned into a beautiful engagement,” their joint statement read.
Jones, 27, and Mitchell, 28, have kept their relationship mostly private but decided to go public with a romantic photo of them kissing, with Jones proudly showing off her diamond engagement ring. Mitchell also posted a video of the proposal, which took place at a tropical resort. The clip shows the couple walking beside a pool before Mitchell gets down on one knee. After Jones accepts, they embrace against a scenic backdrop of palm trees and water.
While the pair have avoided sharing many details about their relationship publicly, fans had speculated about their romance for months. In past interviews, Jones has confirmed she's happy, stating on The Breakfast Club, “I’m happy, and that’s all I got to say about it.”
She also addressed the speculation during a February appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, saying, “The internet definitely clocked my tea… I’m trying to protect myself and my family and whoever I love.”
The couple now looks forward to building their future together, as confirmed by their reps.
