PESHAWAR:

Former spokesperson of the Awami National Party (ANP), Samar Haroon Bilour, and Saeeda Jamshed Khan, Nargis Ali and Syed Sonia Hussain have submitted their nomination papers to the Election Commission for two reserved seats in the National Assembly.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, Samar Haroon Bilour remarked, "Today marks the death anniversary of Haroon Bilour.

We carry the memories of our martyrs in our hearts." She noted that discussions with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had been ongoing for quite some time. "The situation in Peshawar is evident to all. Those imposed on the city are busy looting and plundering. I want to do something meaningful for my city," she said.

In response to a question, Samar clarified that the decision to join PML-N was not made overnight. "Talks have been underway for over a year. Ghulam Ahmad Bilour is the head of our family. After he stepped back from active politics, we decided to join the PML-N."

She further commented on the political climate in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, stating, "What's happening in the name of governance here is nothing short of a circus." However, she emphasized that she holds ANP and its leadership in high regard.

Samar Bilour also announced that she would be contesting the next general elections from her native constituency in Peshawar on a PML-N ticket.

She was accompanied by PML-N leader Sobia Shahid during the submission of nomination papers. Both Samar Bilour and Saeeda Jamshed Khan submitted their documents to Joint Provincial Election Commissioner Fareed Afridi.
