ISLAMABAD:

The Lahore High Court Bar Association and Lahore Bar Association have challenged the judges' seniority case verdict in the Supreme Court.

Both associations have filed separate intra-court appeals against the Supreme Court decision. They have requested the top court to declare the five-member SC bench ruling null and void. They also requested the court to put the ruling and the steps taken in the wake of the judgement in abeyance.

Meanwhile, Islamabad High Court's Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani has decided to challenge the seniority of IHC Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar.

The sources said legal consultation is underway to challenge the President's decision of declaring Justice Dogar as IHC senior most judge and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani as senior puisne judge. It is pertinent to mention that a five-member SC bench had declared the transfer of Justice Dogar in IHC constitutional. The Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court had referred the matter of seniority to the President.
