Six acquitted in 'terrorism' case

Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Amjad Ali Shah acquitted six accused in the high-profile terrorism and triple police encounter case registered at Kallar Kahar Police Station in Chakwal district.
The court ordered the release of Muhammad Rehman, Muhammad Zohaib, Zafar Iqbal, Muhammad Shoaib, Qaiser Zaman and Shafqat Ali due to lack of evidence and illegal arrest.
According to defense counsel Chaudhry Fayyaz Hussain Dhariwal Advocate, the FIR was registered on 26 November 2024, stating that a police encounter had taken place in which two suspects, Asad Mehmood and Zaman were killed, while an Elite Force personnel, Tahir Raza, was martyred.
