Ben Affleck has broken his silence following Jennifer Lopez’s headline-making romance with British actor Brett Goldstein.
The Gone Girl star offered a blunt yet telling reaction, saying: “Not everyone can handle it. I couldn’t.”
Affleck’s alleged comments, leaked via a source close to the actor to RadarOnline, were prompted by the news of Lopez’s new relationship with Goldstein, 41, known for his breakout role in Office Romance. While fans are swooning over the new couple, Affleck’s words suggest caution: “Brett seems like a nice guy… but he’s about to be eaten alive by Hurricane JLo.”
Affleck and Lopez, famously dubbed Bennifer, rekindled their early 2000s romance in 2021, held two weddings in 2022, and divorced in August 2024—on their second anniversary. According to Affleck, their relationship collapsed under the weight of Lopez’s high standards and intense pace. “Jennifer is demanding, has impossible standards, and a lifestyle that not everyone can put up with,” he said.
Since the split, Affleck has remained low-key, focusing on fatherhood and his film work. Sources suggest he’s cautiously reentering the dating scene.
Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez, 55, continues to shine in public appearances, recently declaring, “Being in a relationship does not define me.” She has embraced this new chapter with positivity, while Affleck’s cautionary words serve as both a warning and a reflection on their whirlwind romance.
Goldstein, now at the center of media attention, may soon discover whether the storm of dating JLo is one he’s ready to weather.
