RAWALPINDI:

An 18-year-old boy and his sister-in-law allegedly consumed poisonous pills at their home in the limits of Dhamial police station on Monday.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Rescue 1122 team reached the scene and provided initial medical assistance before transferring them to the hospital.

Later, police also arrived at the scene. According to police officials, the two individuals who ingested the pills were in a dewar-bhabhi (brother-in-law and sister-in-law) relationship. The deceased boy's mother accused her daughter-in-law of giving the pills to her son.

The deceased boy reportedly liked her and wished to marry her himself, but she was married off to the elder brother instead. Therefore, both of them were in depressed and took that extreme step.

The SHO added that the girl's condition is gradually improving, and once she regains full consciousness, they will interrogate to clarify the situation.
