PESHAWAR:

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has released a report detailing the human and material losses caused by heavy rainfall and flash floods across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa over the past 24 hours.

According to the report, five people have lost their lives in various rain-related incidents across the province. The deceased include one man, two women, and two children, while one child sustained injuries.

The report further states that one house was completely destroyed due to the downpour and resulting flash floods. The incidents were reported from the districts of Buner, Malakand, and Mansehra.

PDMA has directed the concerned district administrations to immediately provide assistance to the affected families and ensure the best possible medical care for the injured.

The authority warned that the spell of heavy rains is expected to continue until July 11. PDMA had already issued alerts to all district administrations, urging them to stay on high alert and take precautionary measures in advance.

The PDMA Emergency Operations Center remains fully operational and in constant contact with all relevant departments and relief agencies. Citizens are advised to report any emergency situations by calling 1700.

On the other hand, in the remote and rugged mountainous region of Gadoon Amazai, a massive landslide triggered by recent torrential rains has severed road links, isolating dozens of villages from the rest of the district. The landslide has rendered several key roads impassable, including Haripur's Union Council Bait Gali Road, Devi Road, Palyan Road, Kaneer Road, and Makarr Road.
