A new season of the Black Clover anime has been officially announced during Crunchyroll’s industry panel at Anime Expo 2025. The series, based on Yuki Tabata’s manga, will stream on Crunchyroll upon its future release, with Studio Pierrot confirmed to return for animation production.

A new teaser visual and trailer accompanied the announcement, but details regarding the release date, staff, and cast have not yet been revealed.

Black Clover began as a manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2015 before moving to Jump Giga in December 2023, with 36 volumes released in Japan to date.

The anime adaptation, directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara, aired from October 2017 to March 2021 and concluded with 170 episodes. It was followed by the feature film Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, released in March 2023.

It follows Asta, who is born without magic, and Yuno, his rival with exceptional powers, as they pursue their shared goal of becoming the Wizard King. Asta’s rare Grimoire of Anti-Magic allows him to negate and repel spells, setting the stage for their ongoing challenges.

In a message shared during the panel, creator Yuki Tabata expressed excitement about the continuation of the anime, thanking fans for their support as Black Clover celebrates its 10th anniversary.

The upcoming season aims to build on the energy of the series and its recent film, with the promise of further engaging adventures for fans around the world.
