
The district Crime Control epartment (CCD) foiled on Saturday an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotics from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) into Punjab, arresting a member of an international drug cartel and recovering high-quality hashish worth millions of rupees in the international market. A case has been registered.
Acting on the directives of CCD Punjab head Sohail Zafar Chattha, Attock CCD SHO Inspector Abid Qureshi, under the supervision of Sub-Inspector Syed Aftab Hussain Shah, along with ASI Samar Abbas, Head Constable Kamran Elahi, LHC Nasir Ali, Constable Ali Nouman, and Driver Amir Khan, conducted a raid near Ghazi Brotha Lake based on a tip-off.
The team intercepted Asadullah, son of Amanullah Pathan, a notorious and previously convicted drug trafficker, originally from Ahad Khan, Colonel Sher Khan Police Station, District Swabi, currently residing in Mohalla Tariqabad, Mirza, Attock. He was traveling on a motorcycle from K-P when the team stopped him.
Upon inspection, the officials recovered 11.2 kilograms of high-grade hashish concealed in his belongings. The estimated value of the seized narcotics is in the millions of rupees in the international market.
Authorities recorded video footage and photographs of the arrest. A case has been registered against the accused under Section 9-C of the Control of Narcotics Substances Act, and he has been sent to jail.
