Six of a family die in AJK road accident

The accident occurred on the right bank of the Neelum River

Six members of a family died on Friday, when a vehicle, they were travelling in, veered off the Neelum Valley road while negotiating a sharp turn near Chilyana village in AJK, and plunged hundreds of feet below, media reports said.

The accident occurred on the right bank of the Neelum River, approximately 50 kilometres northeast of AJK capital Muzaffarabad, a report quoted Neelum Valley District Disaster Management Officer Akhtar Ayoub, as saying.

"It rolled down the mountain slope but stopped just short of entering the river; otherwise, it would have been swept away by the violent current," Ayoub said.
