Emma Watson appears to be embracing a new chapter both academically and romantically. The 34-year-old Harry Potter star, who is currently pursuing a DPhil (Oxford’s version of a PhD) in creative writing, was spotted in Port Meadow, Oxford, enjoying a casual date with a mystery man.
Passersby said the pair were painting portraits of each other, laughing, and sharing a picnic, largely unnoticed by others nearby. “They were having a general chat and making each other laugh, which was cute,” said Judie Kitchen, a student who saw them. “They were painting each other and eating together. It was just a really cute date.”
This sighting comes nearly a year after Emma was seen at an Oxford bakery with fellow student Kieran Brown, sparking speculation about a budding romance. Before that, she was in a more public relationship with Brandon Green, son of British tycoon Sir Philip Green. The pair reportedly split in late 2023 after an 18-month relationship that included meeting each other's families and vacations in Venice.
Watson, who splits her time between the US and the UK, has largely kept her personal life private, though she occasionally shares introspective glimpses on social media.
As for her current connection, while Emma hasn’t commented publicly, witnesses say the chemistry was unmistakable. “They only had eyes for one another,” one source said, suggesting the actress may have found new joy amid her academic journey.
