Disney’s Lilo & Stitch has overtaken Warner Bros and Legendary’s A Minecraft Movie to become the highest grossing MPA film of 2025 so far, reaching $957.6 million worldwide and $553.9 million internationally.

A Minecraft Movie has achieved $954.9 million globally, with $530.9 million from international markets. Both titles are currently the only films this year to surpass the $900 million mark at the global box office.

Now in its sixth week of release, Lilo & Stitch, directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, remains on track to potentially become the first Hollywood title of 2025 to cross the billion-dollar mark worldwide.

While A Minecraft Movie retains the highest grossing position in the United States with $423.9 million, Lilo & Stitch follows closely with $403.7 million.

Lilo & Stitch has performed particularly well across international markets, with top territories including Mexico ($66.1M), the UK ($47.1M), France ($39.8M), and Brazil ($36M).

The film opened domestically to $182.6 million over the four-day Memorial Day weekend, marking the largest opening for that holiday period ahead of Top Gun Maverick.

This live-action adaptation of the 2002 animated classic has benefited from the franchise’s strong presence on Disney+, where the original film and series have amassed over 579 million viewing hours globally.

Following the film’s success, Disney has announced a live-action sequel to Lilo & Stitch, continuing the franchise’s momentum at the box office.
