Grammy-winning singer Lizzo is opening up about the lifestyle changes behind her recent weight loss, including shifting away from veganism and rejecting popular weight-loss medications like Ozempic. In an interview with Women’s Health, the 37-year-old artist shared her decision to adopt a high-protein, low-carb diet as part of her ongoing health transformation.
Lizzo revealed that she now begins her day with scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, and a cauliflower hash brown. Her lunch and dinner routines include meals such as shredded Thai chicken salad, turkey meatloaf with cauliflower mash, and green beans. To manage her GERD, Lizzo finishes her final meal by 5 p.m., giving her body ample time to digest before sleep.

A lot of good advice here.

Her snacks have also changed, now consisting of low-sugar Greek yogurt with berries and honey, and she’s swapped her former Frappuccinos for coffee blended with vanilla protein powder. Despite her stricter eating habits, Lizzo maintains balance by occasionally indulging in favorites like chicken tenders with waffles or coconut cream donuts.
The About Damn Time singer admitted that while she previously followed a vegan diet, she often relied on processed foods and consumed up to 5,000 calories daily. She has since worked to build a healthier relationship with food, overcoming past struggles with disordered eating and emotional snacking.
Addressing public speculation, Lizzo confirmed she tried Ozempic but chose not to continue with it. “If I did all this with Ozempic or surgery, I’d still be proud — because this is hard,” she said. Today, she emphasizes mindful eating and self-discipline as key components of her progress.
Lizzo’s transformation not only reflects physical progress, but also sends a message of resilience, balance, and self-acceptance — guided by a renewed mindset and support from a personal trainer.
