Kelly Ripa jokes about taking ‘indecent photos’ in front of David Muir’s ABC portrait

Kelly Ripa joked she took “indecent photos” in front of David Muir’s ABC portrait during a Live With Kelly episode.

During the July 1 episode of Live With Kelly and Mark, co-host Kelly Ripa made a humorous and slightly NSFW confession while celebrating fellow ABC anchor David Muir’s recent Emmy win.

Muir, who earned his third consecutive Emmy for World News Tonight, appeared on the show to discuss his career and the network’s move to its new headquarters at 7 Hudson Square in New York City. Ripa and her husband and co-host, Mark Consuelos, shared laughs with Muir over his reputation as "Commander Handsome" and the larger-than-life images of anchors now decorating the ABC studio walls.

Ripa revealed that she and Consuelos have “unfettered access” to the building and joked that they often admire Muir’s portraits. The conversation took a playful turn when Ripa confessed, “I have some very indecent photos of me standing in front of your picture that I can’t show on the air because they told me it was not suitable for broadcast.”

Consuelos added to the moment by joking that “HR was right next to her” when the photos were taken. Muir responded in kind, recalling other playful moments and teasing Ripa about prior photo offers.

Despite the laughs, the hosts also praised Muir’s accomplishments. Muir said he was proud to let his team accept the Emmy in his absence, acknowledging their hard work over the past 11 years amid increasingly serious news cycles.
