Popular streamer Ludwig Ahgren has publicly addressed criticism surrounding his Beerio Kart event after Super Smash Bros. pro Mang0 was banned from Twitch and dropped by Cloud9 for inappropriate behavior during the livestream.

The June 21 event, held to celebrate the launch of Mario Kart World on the Nintendo Switch 2, required participants to finish a drink before completing a race. Mang0, reportedly intoxicated, harassed female content creators during the stream, sparking immediate backlash.

In a July 1 Twitch broadcast, Ludwig shared that he had spoken privately with Mang0, who requested that Ludwig not comment further on the incident. “He said, ‘I wanna take it on the chin,’” Ludwig explained. “That’s a fair request.”

Ludwig added that Mang0 has started a personal no-drinking commitment and is spending time with family. He pushed back against critics, stating, “There’s a perception of Mang0 people have in their mind, but they don’t actually care about him. I don’t think they’ll be there when he’s back streaming.”

Ludwig confirmed he banned Mang0 from future events, citing complaints from his girlfriend and Maya Higa, who felt unsafe. “People want me to take accountability. I said my piece. If people don’t f**k with me, that’s chill,” he said.

He also questioned why Twitch banned Mang0 instead of holding him accountable as the event host, and reiterated Mang0’s wish to handle matters privately. Previously, Ludwig called the public reaction “lacking nuance.”
