Blues sign Nick Bjugstad to two-year contract worth $3.5 million
The St. Louis Blues have added veteran center Nick Bjugstad to their roster, signing him to a two-year, $3.5 million contract (average annual value of $1.75 million), President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced Tuesday.
Bjugstad, 32, appeared in 66 games with the Utah Mammoth last season, posting 19 points (eight goals, 11 assists) and 16 penalty minutes. Known for his size and two-way play, the 6-foot-5, 205-pound forward brings depth and experience to the Blues’ bottom-six forward group.
A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Bjugstad has played in 760 career NHL games, recording 330 points (157 goals, 173 assists) and 344 penalty minutes. His career includes stints with the Florida Panthers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Minnesota Wild, Arizona Coyotes, Edmonton Oilers, and most recently, the Utah Mammoth.
In the postseason, Bjugstad has totaled eight points (six goals, two assists) and 22 penalty minutes in 27 playoff appearances. He was originally drafted 19th overall by the Florida Panthers in the 2010 NHL Draft.
With the addition of Bjugstad, the Blues continue to solidify their forward depth heading into the 2025–26 season. He is expected to compete for a third-line role and contribute to the penalty kill.
