
A man attacked his two sisters with a knife over a delay in being served food, killing one of them and injuring the other.
The incident occurred in Chak 93WB within the limits of Thingi police station. The man assaulted his sisters with a knife after becoming enraged due to a delay in being served food.
According to the police and local sources, the suspect, Waqas alias Kashi, who was addicted to drugs, asked his younger sister Adeela for food. Upon a delay, he became infuriated and attacked her with a knife.
Hearing the commotion, the elder sister Naila rushed to intervene but was also stabbed repeatedly by the accused.
Both sisters were shifted to a hospital, where Naila died from her injuries. Adeela was in a critical condition, according to the doctors treating her.
Local residents said the suspect had been addicted to drugs for a long time and his quarrels with his family had become routine.
The area police reached at the scene, collected evidence and initiated legal proceedings.
Officials said raids were being carried out to arrest the suspect.
Meanwhile, a speeding vehicle hit a motorcycle on Khanewal Road, resulting in the death of an eight-year-old boy, while his father and two younger sisters were injured.
Sher Muhammad, was returning home to Chak 35 B from Wajhianwala with his son Basit and daughters aged three and five years on a motorcycle when the speeding vehicle struck their motorcycle from the rear.
The vehicle was carrying devotees from the Darbar Sultan Bahu in Jhang.
Upon receiving information about the accident, Highway Patrol Police arrived at the scene and seized the vehicle.
Rescue 1122 teams shifted the injured to the district headquarters hospital, where Basit Ali succumbed to his injuries. His father Sher Muhammad was referred to the Nishtar Hospital in Multan because of his critical injuries.
