The weather system that dumped 58.2 millimetres of rainfall to the city in a single day has now weakened. As a result, the possibility of heavy downpours accompanied by thunder and lightning has ended, and only light rain or drizzle is expected in the coming days.
Over the past three days, the monsoon spell delivered between 6.3 and 58.2 millimetres of rainfall before tapering off. According to the Early Warning Centre, there is currently no chance of further heavy rain with thunder and lightning in the city. However, due to the lingering effects of the monsoon system, the sky is expected to remain partly cloudy over the next few days, with occasional light rain or drizzle, while maximum temperatures are expected to range between 33 and 34 degrees Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Depart-ment, another monsoon system is likely to enter the country and may affect Karachi with rainfall beginning around July 5. The intensity of this upcoming system will become clearer over the next few days.
