Cop martyred in firing incident in Shahpur
A police constable was martyred in the Shahpur area of Peshawar after unidentified assailants opened fire on him early Saturday morning. The attackers fled the scene following the incident. The martyr's funeral prayer was held with full official honors at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines, attended by top police and military officials.
According to police, Constable Shahenshah, son of Ahmad Jan, who was serving as a reader at Hashtnagri Police Station, was on his way to duty when unidentified gunmen ambushed him in the Budhani area under Shahpur Police Station limits. He died on the spot due to multiple gunshot wounds. The attackers, reportedly riding a motorcycle, managed to escape.
Upon receiving the information, SP Rural Division Mukhtiar Ali rushed to the scene with local police, shifted the body for postmortem, and collected key evidence from the site of the crime.
Later in the day, the funeral prayer of the martyred constable was offered at the Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines in Peshawar. Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed, Capital City Police Officer Qasim Ali Khan, SSP Operations Masood Ahmed, SSP Investigation Noor Jamal, senior Pakistan Army officials.
