PHF names squad for U-18 Asia Cup
The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has officially announced the team lineup and officials for the upcoming Under-18 Asia Cup 2025.
The team will be managed by Olympian Malik Shafqat, while the coaching panel includes Mukhtar Ahmed, Tousiq Ahmed, and Masood-ur-Rehman. Abu Zar Umrao have been appointed as the video analyst, and Adeel Akhtar will serve as the team physiotherapist.
The selected players are:
Muhammad Usman, Atif Ali, Usama Haider, Muhammad Abdullah Farooq, Abdullah Awan, Zubair Latif, Muhammad Yaseen, Muhammad Ali Taj, Ghulam Mustafa, Ali Hamza, Ali Hamzada, Aamir Sohail, Adeel Afzal, Muhammad Zaman, Muhammad Hussain, Muhammad Shaheer, Hassan Shahbaz, and Yaseen Jamshed.
PHF President Mir Tariq Hussain Bugti and Secretary General Olympian Rana Mujahid Ali Khan extended their best wishes to the selected players and officials, expressing hope for a strong performance at the tournament.
The national U-18 team will depart for China on June 30, where they will compete in the Under-18 Asia Hockey Cup 2025, scheduled to take place from July 3 to July 13 in the city of Dazhou.
Earlier this month, open trials were held from June 11 to 13 at the Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium, where aspiring young players from across the country showcased their talent. The final team was selected purely on merit.
