Kate Winslet has been named an ambassador for The King's Foundation, King Charles’ charitable organisation focused on environmental preservation and sustainable practices. In a video message announcing the news, Winslet shared her enthusiasm about the role, saying she’s “so thrilled” to join a cause that aligns with her passion for protecting nature.
“I’m deeply inspired by the work The King’s Foundation does, especially its efforts around sustainable farming, outdoor education for youth, and encouraging a deeper connection with our environment,” Winslet said. “These are things that matter greatly to me, and I know they do to so many others as well.”
The appointment comes as the foundation marks its 35th anniversary. Founded in 1990 and formerly known as The Prince’s Foundation, the charity has expanded its initiatives over the years to include educational programs in traditional skills, community revitalisation, and ecological awareness.
Winslet joins an existing lineup of public figures supporting the foundation, including broadcaster Alan Titchmarsh, designer Jay Blades, presenter Sarah Beeny, and rugby player Maro Itoje. She expressed excitement about collaborating with fellow ambassadors to “collectively make a positive difference.”
Kristina Murrin, CEO of The King’s Foundation, welcomed Winslet’s involvement: “It’s been a pleasure getting to know Kate. We’re excited to have her energy and dedication as we continue to promote sustainability and support communities across the UK and beyond.”
The King's Foundation emphasises 'people and planet' through regenerative urban planning, field-to-fork farming, and eco-conscious education values that closely reflect the priorities of both its founder, King Charles, and its new ambassador.
