ISLAMABAD:

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) police have acquired the technology to target and down terrorists' drones from miles away, Express News reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, these drones could be used by the police for the security of important government events, personalities and buildings.

Quoting its sources, Express News report said that terrorists have used drones for terrorism in North Waziristan and southern districts of K-P. During the recent military conflict, India had also used drones in attacks on Pakistan.

"We are working on acquiring more advanced technology and equipping the police with modern weapons and equipment," the report quoted K-P police chief Zulfiqar Hameed as saying. "The anti-drone system will also be used for security in Muharram processions."
