Liver King arrested in Austin for terroristic threat after calling out Joe Rogan online

Liver King arrested in Austin on terroristic threat charge after posting video calling out Joe Rogan to a fight.

Social media influencer Brian Johnson, known as the Liver King, was arrested Tuesday evening by the Austin Police Department.

He faces a Class B misdemeanor charge of terroristic threat, according to Travis County Jail records.

Local outlet KXAN confirmed the Brian Johnson in custody is the social media personality famous for promoting ancestral living and raw meat diets. His arrest follows an Instagram video posted June 23, where he seemingly issued a public combat challenge to podcast host Joe Rogan.

“Joe Rogan, I’m calling you out, man to man,” Johnson says in the video. “I have no training in jiu-jitsu. You’re a black belt. You should dismantle me. But I’m picking a fight with you.”

A second footage posted later that evening shows Johnson, clad in a burgundy hoodie and sweatpants, being handcuffed and escorted into a police vehicle, drawing widespread attention online.

Meanwhile, conspiracy figure Alex Jones had earlier allegedly reported Johnson's apprehension via social media. Jones claimed the arrest stemmed from a “terroristic threats” charge related to the purported challenge. Despite Jones’s assertions, no official confirmation was available from APD at the time. The recent booking record now appears to validate his claim that the arrest occurred—but without indicating who the alleged threat was directed at.

As of this update, APD has not yet released details identifying the specific individual targeted. No statement has been issued regarding an official source or the alleged threat recipient.
