Pusha T clarifies fractured relationship with Kanye West

Pusha T has addressed the tension in his relationship with Kanye West during a recent interview on The New York Times’ “Popcast.”

The rapper clarified that his bond with West is strictly confined to their music collaboration, stating that outside of their professional work, they have little in common. “Outside of music, we’re nothing,” Pusha said, emphasizing that their connection is based on creativity, not personal values.

He went on to explain that they have never shared the same principles, morals, or mindset. "We can’t be anything outside of music. Music is where we click,” he added, noting that they often disagree on various issues. Pusha also criticized what he perceives as clout-chasing behavior, suggesting that such actions are incompatible with his values. “If you’re a man … you can’t move like this,” he said, highlighting what he sees as a lack of integrity in West’s actions.

Pusha had previously spoken on their strained relationship in a GQ interview in June 2025, claiming that their bond was irreparable. He expressed his belief that West knew he did not view him as a man, citing weaknesses in West’s character that had become evident over time.

No Malice, Pusha’s brother and longtime partner, also weighed in during the interview, noting Pusha’s unwavering commitment to integrity in an industry often marked by backstabbing. While Pusha remains firm in his stance, West has publicly expressed regret over the fallout. In May 2025, West posted on social media, saying, “I miss me and Pusha’s friendship.”
