Performance review: Islamabad police solve over 4,000 cases in 2011

ISLAMABAD:


Police in Islamabad resolved over 4,000 cases during 2011, said a statement released by the office of police spokesperson.


A total of 4,226 cases were referred to courts after completing the investigation while 176 cases were re-submitted into courts after the objections on them were removed.

City Police investigated 1,117 cases and referred them to courts while 42 cases were re-submitted into courts after removing the objections on them.

Similarly, Saddar Police referred 1,387 cases to courts after completing investigations on them and 54 cases were resubmitted into courts.

Industrial areas police investigated 727 cases and referred them to courts while 37 cases were re-submitted into courts after removing the objections on them.

Rural Circle Police refereed 995 cases to courts after completing investigation on them and 43 challans were resubmitted into courts.

The IGP directed police officials to investigate cases on merit through professional investigations in them on priority basis.

The statement said that Inspector General of Police Islamabad Bani Amin Khan categorically asked police officials to ensure investigation of cases without any delay and in a transparent manner. He also directed them to dispose off under investigation cases within 14 days; he asked the police stations to send a report to him on daily basis, said the spokesperson.
