IHC refers contempt caseto acting CJ

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday referred a contempt of court petition - filed by PTI patron-in-chief's focal person, Niazullah Niazi, regarding his meeting with Imran Khan - to the acting chief justice.

The court remarked that since a larger bench had already issued a verdict in this case on March 24, this petition should also be heard by the same bench.

Consequently, the case file was forwarded to the chief justice for an appropriate order.

Earlier, the court had reserved its decision on whether the contempt petition should be heard by a single-member bench or the larger bench.
