The Peshawar High Court (PHC)'s Abbottabad bench has taken strong action against officials for failing to submit required comments in a case related to mine blasting activities and withheld their salaries.
The court has directed the senior Inspector of Mines to appear in person and ordered the withholding of salaries for two officials until they comply with the court's directions.
The case was heard by Abbottabad bench of the PHC, with Justice Sadiq Ali and Justice Mudassir Ameer.
The senior Inspector of Mines has been directed to appear in person before the court due to the failure to submit required comments despite ongoing blasting activities.
Similarly, the salaries of the senior Inspector of Mines and the DPO Abbottabad will be withheld until they file their para-wise comments as per the court's earlier directions.
In earlier judgement passed by Justice Kamran Hayat Miankhel, the court has modified an earlier order, directing the leaseholder to refrain from using explosive materials for blasting mines.
The court also instructed the senior Inspector of Mines and the Abbottabad DPO to legally enforce their orders, if any.
