DDG fires back at critic during Father's Day post amid custody battle with Halle Bailey

Rapper DDG responded to online backlash over a Father’s Day tweet, amid his ongoing legal conflict with singer and actress Halle Bailey regarding their son, Halo Saint. On June 15, DDG (Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.) tweeted, “Happy Father’s Day to all the active dads worldwide.” A pop culture page, Pop Tingz, sarcastically quoted the post with, “So not you?” DDG fired back, calling the critic “irrelevant,” adding, “I can cashapp you the worth of this page… I support the LGBT community.”

The exchange sparked mixed reactions online, with some siding with Pop Tingz and criticizing DDG’s response. The rapper and Bailey, who began dating in 2022 and welcomed their son in December 2023, announced their separation in 2024 and have since been embroiled in multiple legal disputes over parenting rights.
Earlier this year, Bailey filed for a restraining order, alleging that DDG’s behavior—such as false accusations and inflammatory livestreams—had led to online harassment. According to TMZ, she claimed his actions posed an “imminent emotional and psychological risk” to their child. A Los Angeles court granted her a 100-day restraining order in May.
In June 2025, DDG filed for his own restraining order, also requesting the court prevent Bailey from taking their son abroad, specifically to Italy. He alleged that her emotional instability could negatively impact Halo. According to Hot New Hip Hop, the court granted a partial protective order to DDG but found insufficient evidence to block Bailey’s travel or custody rights. The order includes measures to prevent emotional abuse and permits third-party mediation in custody arrangements.
