Elijah Blue Allman, son of music legend Cher and the late Gregg Allman, has reportedly been hospitalised following a drug overdose in Joshua Tree, California. According to TMZ, the 48-year-old was rushed to a nearby medical facility on Saturday and is now receiving treatment.
Insiders told the outlet that Cher is focused on “her son’s well-being, and she’s doing everything she can to get him the help he needs.”
The pop icon has long been candid about her son’s struggles with substance use and previously filed for a conservatorship in 2023, citing “severe mental health and substance abuse issues.”
Though the motion was later withdrawn in September 2024, concerns about his condition persisted.
Elijah, a musician who once led the rock band Deadsy under the name P. Exeter Blue, previously admitted in a 2014 interview that he began using drugs at age 11. He also revealed a complex relationship with both of his parents and described periods of estrangement from Cher.
Most recently, Elijah has been going through divorce proceedings with his estranged wife, Marieangela “Angie” King. She filed again in April 2025, requesting spousal support. In 2022, King claimed Cher attempted to interfere with their marriage, a claim Cher denied.
Elijah’s condition remains unclear, and reps for Cher have not publicly commented.
