Woman seeks protection from 'abusive' cop husband

A woman, Pyari Sheikh, along with her son and mother, approached the Daulatpur Press Club on Sunday, seeking protection from her allegedly abusive husband.

Addressing a press conference, Pyari accused her husband, Police Constable Ali Nawaz Sheikh, of subjecting her to daily physical abuse on baseless allegations. She claimed "he beats me regularly and threatens to kill me so he can remarry." She further alleged that her husband's maternal uncles, Akbar, Gul, and Zameer Sheikh, frequently storm their house and join her husband in physically assaulting and harassing her.

Pyari also stated in distress "they want to snatch my son away from me." She expressed that she still wants to live with her husband for the sake of her child, however, she believes he is plotting to murder her.
