Abbottabad water crisis deepens
A crippling water crisis has gripped Abbottabad city and the suburban village of Bagh, depriving thousands of residents of clean drinking water for over 10 days. What began as a shortage has now escalated into a full-blown humanitarian emergency.
With taps running dry, life has become unbearable for residents. Women and children walk for miles daily, carrying heavy containers on their heads to fetch water from distant springs and makeshift streams. Clashes have erupted over scarce water supplies, raising fears of a breakdown in public order.
Despite repeated complaints lodged with the newly elected MPA and MNA, and official reports submitted to the Public Health Department, authorities have yet to take meaningful action. Local representatives remain silent, offering no assurance to those suffering.
