DHS official slams Kim Kardashian over ICE criticism amid Los Angeles deportation riots

A senior Department of Homeland Security (DHS) official publicly rebuked Kim Kardashian following her criticism of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deportation operations amid ongoing riots in Los Angeles.
Tricia McLaughlin, Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at DHS, responded directly to Kardashian on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, challenging the reality star’s remarks calling ICE actions “inhumane.” McLaughlin’s post featured mugshots and criminal backgrounds of four undocumented immigrants recently arrested by ICE in Los Angeles.

The arrests were part of ICE enforcement raids that sparked widespread protests and violence across Los Angeles since last Friday. In response, President Trump has deployed the National Guard and U.S. Marines to assist federal agents.
On Tuesday, Kardashian posted an Instagram Story condemning ICE's methods. “When we witness innocent, hardworking people being ripped from their families in inhumane ways, we have to speak up,” she wrote. The SKIMS founder emphasized the role immigrants play in L.A.’s community and economy, urging for a “better way” to handle immigration policy.
The clash highlights growing tensions between immigration advocates and federal authorities as ICE continues mass deportation operations across major U.S. cities.
