KARACHI:

The Additional District and Sessions Judge has directed the DIG West to conduct an inquiry into a petition alleging theft of sacrificial animals by cops of Mominabad police station.

Petitioner Bismah claimed that SHO Anwar Meraj and other police personnel entered her house without a warrant, intimidated her family members, and took away ten goats, gold, cash and other valuables.

The court ordered the inquiry to be conducted at the SSP level. The court expressed deep concern over the police's conduct.

The court directed DIG West to conduct an inquiry and explain where the goats have gone, whether the police entered the house legally, and what damage to the petitioner's family was caused.

The inquiry is to be completed before Eidul Azha, with a detailed report to be submitted to the court by June 6.
