Dead & Company will celebrate 60 years since the founding of the Grateful Dead with a three-night concert series at Golden Gate Park’s Polo Fields on August 1, 2, and 3, 2025.

Formed in 1965, the Grateful Dead rose from San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury scene and became iconic in the psychedelic rock era. Dead & Company, the modern iteration of the band, features original members Bob Weir and Mickey Hart, alongside John Mayer, Jeff Chimenti, Oteil Burbridge, and Jay Lane.

The concerts will commemorate the band's deep roots in San Francisco, where they played free shows in Golden Gate Park during the 1960s. Each night will feature a 75-minute opening act: Billy Strings on August 1, Sturgill “Johnny Blue Skies” Simpson on August 2, and the Trey Anastasio Band on August 3.

Artist presale for three-day tickets opens May 28 at 10 a.m. PT, while general sale begins May 30. Three-day passes start at $635 including fees, and single-day tickets, priced from $245, will be released soon.

VIP packages offer expedited entry, premium viewing areas, exclusive bars, upgraded restrooms, and lounge seating.

San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie, who announced the shows, described the event as “a San Francisco homecoming,” linking the Grateful Dead’s legacy with the city’s cultural revival efforts.

The concerts are part of Lurie's initiative to attract large-scale events and reinvigorate San Francisco's downtown area.

This celebration comes following the deaths of Jerry Garcia (1995) and Phil Lesh (2024), and Bill Kreutzmann stepping back from performances in 2023.
