Regina Ventura, mother of singer Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura, testified on Tuesday in the high-profile sex-trafficking and racketeering trial against Sean “Diddy” Combs.
During her 40-minute testimony, Regina revealed shocking claims that Combs threatened her daughter’s life and pressured her to pay $20,000 to recoup investments he made in Cassie’s career.
According to court records, Regina Ventura stated that in December 2011, Cassie sent her a letter describing how Diddy threatened to release footage showing her forced participation in explicit “freak offs.” Cassie also warned that Combs was threatening to have someone harm her and her then-boyfriend, rapper Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi. Regina testified that Combs indicated he would not be physically present in the United States if the harm were to occur.
Regina further claimed that Diddy directly contacted her demanding $20,000 as repayment for promoting Cassie’s music career. Due to financial constraints, Regina and her husband took out a home equity loan to meet Combs’ demand, which she described as terrifying. “He was trying to hurt my daughter,” Regina said on the stand.
Additionally, Regina testified that she documented Cassie’s injuries allegedly caused by Combs and recounted a confrontation in which Combs refused to return Cassie’s phone, escalating tensions between the families.
The testimony adds to the mounting allegations against Diddy in this ongoing trial, which also involves other witnesses including Combs’ former assistant and an exotic dancer linked to the case. Cassie Ventura’s story remains central to the legal proceedings that continue to unfold.
